Terms & Conditions

Effective date: 1 April 2025  ·  Last updated: 28 April 2025

Please read these terms carefully before leaving a watch with Tickwise or submitting an enquiry through our website. By engaging our services, you confirm that you have read and understood these terms. If anything is unclear, you are welcome to ask a member of the team before work begins.

1. Definitions

In these terms and conditions, the following words carry the meanings set out below:

2. Acceptance of Terms

These terms form the basis of the arrangement between you and Tickwise when you:

By taking any of the above steps, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the authority to enter into an arrangement on behalf of the owner of the watch, if that is not yourself.

3. Service Description

Tickwise offers the following workshop services, as described on our Solutions page:

Prices shown are indicative. The final price is confirmed in writing on the quotation after the initial inspection. No work begins until you have confirmed the quotation.

We do not provide diagnosis, repair advice, or assessments for insurance, legal, or valuation purposes. All work carried out is a workshop service on privately owned timepieces.

4. Intake and Quotation

At the point of drop-off, a member of the team will complete a written intake form recording the watch's visible condition, accessories received, and the service requested. You will receive a copy of this form.

After inspection, we will contact you with a written quotation. If you do not confirm the quotation within fourteen calendar days, we may return the watch to you uninspected. Return at this stage carries no charge beyond the cost of any postage if applicable.

If during the course of work an unexpected condition is found that changes the scope or cost, we will pause work and contact you before proceeding.

5. Turnaround and Collection

Indicative turnaround times are provided at quotation. These are estimates and may vary depending on parts availability or workshop volume. We will notify you when your watch is ready for collection.

Watches that are not collected within sixty calendar days of the completion notification will incur a storage fee of RM 5 per day from the sixty-first day. Watches uncollected after six months may, at our discretion, be subject to further action under Malaysian consumer law.

If you need to arrange postage for return, the cost and risk of transit are yours. We can recommend a suitable service on request.

6. Payment

Payment is due in full at the time of collection unless a prior arrangement has been agreed in writing. We accept the following payment methods at the workshop counter:

We do not accept foreign currency. We do not process card payments online. Any deposit agreed at intake will be applied against the final amount.

If a watch is returned to you after inspection without any work having been carried out, no service charge applies. If an inspection fee was agreed at intake, that amount remains due.

7. Liability

We take care of every watch left with us. Before work begins, we document its condition on the intake form. In the unlikely event of damage attributable to workshop handling, we will discuss a fair resolution with you.

Our liability is limited to the reasonable cost of restoring the watch to the condition recorded at intake, or to a refund of the service fee paid — whichever is the lower amount. We are not liable for:

We strongly recommend that you declare the full replacement value of your watch at drop-off. We do not insure watches on your behalf; you may wish to extend your own household contents insurance to cover the period of the watch's stay with us.

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for matters that cannot be excluded under Malaysian consumer protection law.

8. Intellectual Property

All written content, photographs, and design elements on the Tickwise website are the property of Tickwise or are used with permission. You may not reproduce, copy, or distribute any part of our website content for commercial purposes without our written permission.

Trademarks and brand marks belonging to watch manufacturers remain the property of those manufacturers. Our use of model names in service descriptions is for identification purposes only and does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by those manufacturers.

9. Website Use

You may use the Tickwise website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

The website is provided without any commitment to continuous availability. We may carry out maintenance or updates at any time.

10. Withdrawal from Service

You may withdraw a watch from service at any time before work has begun, at no charge. If work is partway through and you ask us to stop, we will discuss a fair charge for the work already completed before returning the watch to you in its current state.

We reserve the right to decline a service request if, on inspection, we determine that the work is outside our scope or that there is a risk of the watch being damaged by the service requested. In such cases, we will explain our reasoning and return the watch to you at no cost.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from a service carried out at Tickwise will first be addressed informally — please contact us at [email protected] and we will make every effort to resolve the matter directly.

If informal resolution is not possible, disputes may be referred to the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia (Tribunal Tuntutan Pengguna Malaysia), which provides a low-cost avenue for consumer disputes under Malaysian law.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page with the "last updated" date shown at the top. Changes do not affect arrangements already in progress at the time of the change.
